FAQ's
We are sometimes confronted with the same questions and concerns. Here we have tried to answer these questions: -

What do I need before I come to LA?
You will need a realistic budget for the first 6 months in LA. Remember you are moving countries so you will be starting all over again. You will have no credit history therefore you will be required to put large deposits down on certain things - you need to build up credit. This includes finding a place to rent, buying or renting a car, contract cell phone, banks, credit cards, store cards, utilities etc.

I think I am eligible for a 01 visa. What do I need to do?
To qualify for a 01 visa you must prove that you are at the top of your career in your home country. You must show US Immigration that you are ‘Alien of Extraordinary Ability'. You must have television, theatre & film credits plus other work. You must have worked for at least two major television networks in your home country.

I have been told that I can obtain a 01 visa for only 1 year. Is this correct?
No, you are eligible for a 01 visa for any term up to 3 years. You need to ensure that your attorney applies the 3 years term (in exceptional cases up to 5 years). The final decision is always down to immigration - their decision is beyond our control.

My attorney thinks my case is 50/50?
Immigration evaluates each case individually. Basically it boils down to how the immigration officer views your case on the day. From our past experience, we have had weaker cases approved and stronger cases received RFE's (Request for Further Evidence) - no one can pre-empt the outcome of any case. NextstopLAX never accepts a client who does not meet the 01 visa criteria.

My manager / agent says that they can sort my visa for me. Why do I need your services?
We often deal with managers / agents who think they can organize / understand visas. The process is not as simple as everyone may think. We have been processing visas for many years and have come across a variety of challenges that we have always overcome. The process for a 01 visa is long and complicated. It is time consuming, detailed and on occasion frustrating. We focus 100% on visas therefore we have no other distractions and are available to iron out any creases. Managers / Agents have other commitments and are not always available to meet immigration deadlines. We live & breathe visas. Our staff are experts in what they do.

I have found an attorney who is cheaper than you.
You are free to explore all options available to you. We can promise you we are here to support you 24/7. As our client you are a priority to us. You are free to drop into our office or call us - you will always be greeted by a friendly face or voice.
Your attorney only files your case. They expect you to do most of the paperwork chasing, plus the compiling of your case yourself. NextstopLAX offers you the magic ingredients - we do all the chasing for you, compile your case, write letters to sponsors, seek your 3 year union contract, organize your approval union letters and work itinerary.

I have been recommended to use the ‘best attorney in town'. They have obtained visas for celeb x, y,z.
Los Angeles has built its reputation on entertainment and making money. The majority of people in LA are six degrees of separation from a celebrity or a wealthy person / business. It is no reflection of a business or person who have previously worked with a celebrity. They may be using a celebrity to endorse their product. We are here to ensure you get the best service and are looked after, supported and mentored whilst you are in LA. Always go with your gut instinct.

Why don't I organize my 01 visa myself?
NextstopLAX is a one stop shop - we co-ordinate every aspect of your visa pack plus we can arrange meetings with agents & managers. We actively find you a sponsor, 3-year union contract, union approval letters and help you with your work itinerary. By using our services you have access to our industry contacts, utilizing our key relationships with agents / managers. It is not impossible but quite a task to take on alone.
